Electro-Voice EVM12L Black Label 16 Ohm Zakk Wylde Raw Guitar Speaker Driver Details

The 16 ohm Black Label, as well as the 16 ohm EVM12L Classic-16, are discontinued without a replacement due to ElectroVoice's inability to find a new supplier for some of its parts. Audio-Depot has a limited number available. A 16 ohm speaker is much easier on your amp than an 8 ohm speaker. The lower the ohms, the harder your amp has to work. Every time you add another speaker you are cutting in half the ohm load that your amp sees. So 2x 16 ohm speakers = an 8 ohm load on your amp. 2x 8ohm speakers would be a 4 ohm load on your amp. Most amps are not made to operate below 2 or 4 ohms but they will do it for awhile... until they overheat and burn up! Built to capture his tone and withstand his abuse, the EVM12L Black Label is endorsed by Zakk Wylde as well as the Black Label Society. System Power Handling (continuous/program/peak): 300/600/1200 Watts. The original EVM12L 12" loudspeaker was introduced in 1983. Known for its huge tone, gorgeous low-end and incredible stability at extreme volumes, it quickly achieved legendary status. Top guitarists and bassists loved it not only for its sound, but also for its reliability. Tour after tour, the EVM 12L held up to the demands of the most punishing players. Enter the EVM-12L Black Label, the official guitar loudspeaker of Zakk Wylde and Black Label Society. Take the EVM-12L, add Zakk's personal specs (improved power handling, improved magnet design, better venting, and the Black Label colors), and now you have the greatest guitar loudspeaker in the world. Wanna argue with Zakk on that? I didn't think so.
